We are very pleased to inform that RISE ETC application with the LimeArc initiative has been approved by the Swedish Energy Agency on 27 april 2021.
The total project cost is 8.3 MSEK whereof EM finance 5.7 MSEK.
This means that RISE ETC will start the laboratory tests already in June. Henrik Wiinikka Senior Scientist and Project Leader says “We are starting up our planning directly, looking forward to working in this interesting sector, to develop a completely new use of plasma technology for the forest industry. Our cooperation with LimeArc Process AB is mandatory for this application”.
LimeArc Process AB is now moving into their Phase2 of the project, carried out by RISE ETC. The results are of great importance to give input to the planned Phase3. This phase is a pilot scale test with lime from kraft pulp chemical recovery in production type of environment.
From LimeArc’s side, we are thankful for approval from the Swedish Energy Agency to RISE ETC. This strengthens the triple helix model in the Swedish industry, and we are looking forward to working together with a group of senior experts from Stora Enso, Smurfit Kappa and Linde Gas.
